Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto, hereafter referred to as DIS) has concluded a distributorship agreement with Wasabi Technologies Japan G.K. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazukuni Kuroda, hereafter referred to as Wasabi), the Japanese subsidiary of Wasabi Technologies LLC, a cloud storage company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, to flexibly meet the growing demand for big data in the Japanese market. Under this agreement, we now offer Wasabi’s pioneering cloud storage, as the first distributor in the Asia and Pacific region. As a multivendor, we also help customers introduce cloud storage at a low cost and obtain a highly reliable backup environment, by combining Wasabi cloud storage with backup software or devices, as solutions. Wasabi and DIS will work together to enhance Japanese customer understanding of the cloud’s usability and cost efficiency, and solve various problems related to data not limited to the backup space.

 

Wasabi’s customer base stores a wide variety of data that include backups, disaster and ransomware recovery, archiving, monitoring camera imagery, medical imaging, scientific research, education, genomics, AI/ML data lakes, as well as block chain, TV, film, and government agency data, and is expanding dramatically worldwide. By using Wasabi for data backup, users can considerably reduce costs compared with using typical cloud storage services, because Wasabi makes it possible to eliminate the cost involved in unpredictable egress and API request fees. Thereby, users can store more data for less money, and allocate the time and money saved to other major objectives.

 

As part of the agreement, the two companies are scheduled to jointly participate in marketing activities, such as events organized by DIS, with a view to enhancing product awareness and acquiring partners in the Japanese market, and to training for the introduction of solutions to new partners. In addition, Wasabi offers marketing development support to help DIS provide prompt promotional information to the market regarding Wasabi’s cloud storage, a self-service portal equipped with marketing content, and a concierge marketing service for partners planning launch strategies.

 

DIS offers cloud storage supplied by Wasabi to users across the country, through its roughly 19,000 dealers and community-based sales activities offered by our sales network of roughly 90 sales bases covering every corner of the country.
