Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto, hereafter referred to as DIS) has concluded a distributorship agreement with Versa Networks, Inc. (Head Office: San Jose, California, U.S.A., hereafter referred to as Versa Networks). The two companies have begun collaboration to market integrated solutions with powerful networking, cloud access integration, and security functions, supplied by Versa Networks, in Japan.

 

Various internet gateway functions have traditionally been centrally managed in facilities such as datacenters; however, with the rapid spread of cloud computing, migration from centralized to decentralized management, in several bases or with the help of cloud services, is becoming popular. Under these circumstances, secure access service edge (SASE) solutions are drawing increasing attention in the cloud gateway market.

 

In his discussion of SD-WAN (as well as ZTNA and SWG), in “New Way to Networking: Five Points to Learn before Adopting Cloud Security Gateway,” in a November 30, 2020 Gartner Report, Takeshi Ikeda notes that Versa Networks is positioned as one of the leading vendors of SASE-related technology. Versa Networks offers solutions that can meet the requirements of large-scale to small- and medium-sized users.

 

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Japanese market is in the midst of accelerating digitalization. As a result, cloud computing capability is being rapidly adopted in various fields, to increase infrastructure availability. This movement is being impeded, however, by the continuing dependency on legacy network hardware and complicated, static WAN architecture from the past, with networks based on centrally concentrated security gateways being plagued by traffic bottlenecks. It is necessary, then, to construct new networks that utilize cloud gateways, and migrate to networks that enable efficient decentralization and offloading.

 

To this end, Versa Networks offers increased performance by integrating both cloud-based and on-premise security, networking, and analysis capabilities, using a simple Versa Operating System (VOS), and combining these functions using single pass parallel processing architecture. In addition, the system increases security, eliminates complexity, and improves the visibility of the entire network.

 

DIS is now offering a VOS that provides all these functions, as well as Versa Titan, a simplified version of the VOS, for small- and medium-sized companies. In the case of Versa Titan, DIS has concluded a sole agency agreement for the Japanese market.

 

DIS offers Versa Networks solutions to users across the country, through its roughly 19,000 dealers and the community-based sales activities of its network of roughly 90 sales bases covering every corner of the country. In promoting these activities, DIS contributes to the digital transformation of Japanese companies.
