Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto, hereby referred to as DIS) has concluded an exclusive distribution agreement with StorONE, Inc. (Head Office: New York, State of New York, U.S.A., hereby referred to as StorONE), a software- defined enterprise storage platform company, to meet a variety of storage needs in the Japanese market. Under this agreement, DIS offers StorONE’s pioneering platforms as the first supplier in Japan. The platforms provide users with support for various combinations of workloads (files, blocs, and objects) and many types of storage protocol, allowing them to utilize any mix of media and applications.

In Japan, IT departments face a growing need to evolve from managing storage infrastructure to providing infrastructure for supporting business models from anywhere, in order to get an overview of the entire infrastructure in the course of digital transformation. However, the specialists in storage and data necessary to realize this shift are currently in short supply. StorONE’s S1 Enterprise Storage Platform, which DIS begins marketing with the conclusion of this distribution agreement, simplifies the storage infrastructure of organizations while dramatically reducing costs, and does not depend on protocols such as Fiber, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, or S3. Managed by the same interface, all the characteristics of the S1 Enterprise Storage Platform can be used on-premises or in the cloud, making it possible to provide IT departments with excellent solutions difficult to provide using existing software-defined storage. Building a new storage platform can satisfy current storage needs while dramatically reducing both the expertise required and the costs involved in storage management, enabling IT departments to be well prepared for future infrastructure-based innovations.

DIS supplies users across the country with StorONE’s solutions through its network of around 19,000 dealers, working with its roughly 90 sales bases throughout Japan, in its community-based sales system, and will contribute to the digital transformation of Japanese companies by marketing these solutions.

Gal Naor, CEO and co-founder of StorONE Inc., stated, “Companies around the world face the same big challenges associated with storage, which include scaling of capacity and performance, decreased use rate of hardware resources, and management of complex infrastructure refresh cycles. DIS is well-known for providing global solutions designed to solve various issues in the market, to every corner of Japan. With the help of our partnership with DIS, we will penetrate the Japanese market, and empower customers with the ability to improve the economics and management of their enterprise storage by utilizing our platforms.”

Hiroyuki Matsumoto, President of Daiwabo Information System, stated, “Japanese companies are strengthening their efforts aimed at digital transformation, and achieving diverse working styles has become a major goal for them. It is crucial for any infrastructure that supports the latter initiative, to ensure flexibility and universal availability. We are pleased to offer StorONE products, which facilitate the construction of cutting-edge storage infrastructures, in order to achieve this environment.”
