Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd.

Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as DIS; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto) has concluded a distributorship agreement for the Japanese market with Illumio Inc. (Sunnyvale, California, USA, hereinafter referred to as Illumio), and will launch the sale on the Japanese domestic market of three segmentation products supplied by Illumio. These are Illumio Core, Illumio Endpoint, and Illumio CloudSecure, the only segmentation products with a proven track record whose design specializes in zero trust security. Through collaboration with Illumio, we offer total security solutions that include not only sales but also technological support.

Unlike in the past, threats to security currently cause serious damage to corporate activities regardless of company size. Nonetheless, small- and medium-sized companies are very slow to cope with threats to security because they cannot allocate sufficient budget to apply effective security measures.

Illumio solutions, which are priced in relation to their size of utilization, have been adopted and employed extensively, not only in large companies such as leading financial institutions that take very strict security measures, but also in small- and medium-sized companies.

Companies and organizations can identify risks, isolate attacks, and achieve strong protection of data by utilizing Illumio’s zero trust segmentation platform that is the only proven platform model whose design specializes in zero trust security.

The idea of zero trust is drawing increasing attention. One reason is that the increased use of Cloud computing among companies and the shift to teleworking has accelerated due to the rapid spread of ICT in recent years.

The spread of Cloud computing has been driven by not only by the utilization of SaaS but also by migration of companies’ core systems to the Cloud. In addition, changes in working practices and the spread of Covid-19 have provided a major impetus to teleworking.

As a result, there has been a dramatic increase in remote accessing of important data and of companies’ core systems.

At the same time, workplaces are growing more complex, since devices such as PCs, tablets, and smartphones have become widespread. Perimeter defence-type security measures can no longer guarantee information security. Similarly, conventional security alone cannot cope with cyberattack techniques that are becoming ever more sophisticated and malign.

For these reasons, demand for Zero Trust Security, which represents a new concept in security, has been growing.

In a flat network without segmentation, an attacker or malware can move around freely once it has broken in, meaning that detection and boundary defenses cannot provide sufficient security. Illumio’s segmentation products, which are the only proven products specifically designed to provide zero trust security, can identify and easily block any route along which a cyberattack attempts to intrude into the organization’s digital operations.

DIS offers solutions supplied by Illumio to users across the country through about 19,000 dealers, with the help of our community-based sales system, consisting of about 90 sales bases that cover the entire country, and provides value-added support including for technological inquiries. We believe that are in this way supporting digitalization and business reform in companies and contributing to the digital transformation of Japan.

We will exhibit Illumio’s products and offer seminars at the “DIS World in Echigo Niigata with Digital Days” exhibition that DIS will be holding for two days, starting on November 16, 2022. All people interested in this exhibition are cordially welcome.

Hiroyuki Matsumoto, President of Daiwabo Information System, says, “Working practices are changing greatly in Japanese companies because of the influence of the Covid-19 catastrophe.  It has become an urgent task to improve and evolve digital workplaces to support these changing working practices. At the same time, we are aware that company systems and data are under a range of threats, because both systems and data in companies are networked. The security solutions supplied by Illumio allow all companies and organizations to prosper with confidence and guarantee the safety of their digital infrastructures and assets.”

On Illumio
Zero trust segmentation platforms supplied by Illumio block the spread of intrusions into target areas expanded by hybridized IT environments. They visualize all traffic flows, such as those between workloads, those between devices, and those between Internet lines, automatically set a detailed segmentation policy, and control communications. As part of this process, they separate important assets, and subsequently they either proactively isolate any system that has been breached or isolate active attacks.  Because they can block intrusions and ransomware within minutes and reduce the costs incurred during the downtime of applications by several millions of dollars, they are being used by organizations of all sizes, from Fortune 100 companies that are accelerating Cloud and digital reform projects to small- and medium-sized companies.
