Teachers Without Previous Teleclass Experience Can Conduct Web Classes Easily

Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd.

As of July 2, 2020, Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto, hereafter referred to as DIS) began offering the DIS Easy Teleclass Pack, in collaboration with Intel K.K. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Kunimasa Suzuki, hereafter referred to as Intel), and recruiting schools to monitor the program.

■To sustain children’s willingness to learn
Schools have been closed because of the coronavirus; and even after they reopen, we must be prepared for possible second and third waves. As a result, teleclasses have been instituted for purposes such as the distribution of class content and interactive web classes, in conjunction with conventional classes, in order to sustain students’ learning. It has become a pressing task for the school system to develop the technologies and know-how necessary for remote education, as well as realizing the concept of the ‘GIGA school’. In light of this, DIS has begun offering the DIS Easy Teleclass Pack, in cooperation with Intel.

■On the DIS Easy Teleclass Pack
The DIS Easy Teleclass Pack is a comprehensive pedagogical package that includes devices critical for conducting teleclasses, such as a PC and camera, and a video showing how to set these up and create and distribute teaching materials. Even teachers who are conducting a teleclass for the first time can easily deliver a PC-based web class using the Intel vPro® platform.

■On recruiting schools for monitoring
We have launched a free monitoring campaign for the DIS Easy Teleclass Pack, for education committees and schools dealing with the coronavirus crisis. It facilitates the conduct of teleclasses by teachers who have never recorded or distributed class content using PCs and peripherals.
The monitoring campaign enables teachers to create and distribute teleclass teaching materials, in addition to conducting ICT-based web classes, with a view to sharing their experiences with other teachers, and ultimately promoting teleclass activities and more flexible learning opportunities in Japan. We began recruiting schools for monitoring on July 2, 2020, on the Intel website.

We are planning to recruit about 20 schools, selecting these from the accumulated applications. We welcome applications from educational institutions that agree with the purpose of the campaign and are interested in joining us in achieving its objectives.

DIS supports the promotion of online education in more regions and schools, and supports schools and teachers in their efforts to deliver better learning opportunities to their students through this activity.

Teruya Ida, Executive Officer, Director of Channel Scale & Partner Group of Intel Japan, states, “In Japan, Intel is promoting education on the utilization of information and communication technology in the ‘one PC terminal for everyone’ environment, nurturing 21st-century skills and promoting STEM/programming education, in order to develop highly skilled engineers capable of developing valuable technology, and human resources capable of utilizing such technology, in the search for a more affluent society. We are very pleased to conduct a monitoring campaign, in collaboration with DIS, to promote online education. We welcome applications from as many municipal education committees and schools as possible. Intel will continue to make vigorous efforts to create enhanced educational environments, in collaboration with DIS and other partner companies.”
