Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter DIS; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto) will launch “Prepaid Charging for AWS,” which is a prepaid-type method of payment for Amazon Web Services (hereinafter AWS), on August 28, 2023. DIS is the first authorized AWS distributor in Japan. The launch of this service will make it possible for end users who utilize services offered by AWS through DIS dealers under the AWS distribution program to select their preferred method of payment of usage fees.

 

IT infrastructures can benefit greatly from AWS cloud services, which provide agility, efficiency, cost reduction, and improved scalability. The AWS cloud also allows system managers to manage and operate their systems regardless of location, because a physical server is not required. This product feature reduces time constraints in ‘new normal’ working practices, and will assist with the rapid uptake of cloud computing services. Some Japanese end users are uncomfortable with pay-per-use cloud computing, as it goes against the traditional practice of budgeting for a fixed-fee charging system, so they will find the prepaid option to their liking.

 

Prepaid charging for AWS allows users to use an advance payment-type means of settlement that charges usage fees from a pre-purchased balance. Thanks to this feature, it can be readily adopted not only by educational institutions and public offices, both of which tend to avoid pay-per-use charging, but also by companies that are looking into the construction of a testing environment for the migration of their in-house system to cloud computing.

 

DIS has a dedicated organization as an authorized distributor of AWS and a sales system that covers the whole of Japan. We will sell Prepaid charging for AWS to end users around the country via our dedicated organization and our community-based sales system of about 90 sales bases, through 19,000 dealers. Aiming to have this service adopted by 300 companies by the end of fiscal 2023, we are contributing to accelerating Japan’s digital transformation by facilitating the usage of AWS.
