Based on our recognition that global warming and climate change is an important management issue, the Daiwabo Group has established Group-wide CO_{2} reduction targets, as part of our aim to create a decarbonized society. Through our business activities, we will aim to create a society that is not only decarbonized, but also sustainable.

Reduce total CO_{2} emissions* by 30% by 2030,
compared with fiscal 2013 levels

*Total reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions

Scope: Daiwabo Information System Co., Ltd. (consolidated), Daiwabo Co., Ltd. (consolidated, domestic), and O-M Ltd. (consolidated, domestic)

Reducing the environmental impact of business activities

More efficient transportation and delivery

The Daiwabo Information Systems (DIS) Group uses an advanced logistics center function and inventory management system to deliver goods ordered by customers promptly and efficiently. By consolidating and reducing the number of shipments, DIS reduces fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions related to transportation.

In order to reduce the environmental impact of its logistics activities, Daiwabo is focusing on the shift to rail transport, the utilization of bulk containers, and attempts to maximize the load capacity of trucks.
As part of its efforts to prevent global warming, KANBO PRAS CORPORATION is promoting the use of Japan Rail containers to its customers in cooperation with their businesses.

Introduction of low-emission vehicles

The DIS Group is promoting the introduction of vehicles with the lowest possible environmental impact in its fleet of business vehicles. In fiscal 2022, DIS switched all 138 of its sales vehicles to low-emission vehicles, of which 96 were hybrid vehicles, accounting for about 70% of its vehicles. DIS will continue to introduce hybrid vehicles in this manner.

Development of environmentally friendly products

Development of biodegradable materials

Marine-biodegradable rayon fiber “e:CORONA™”

The marine-biodegradable rayon fiber “e:CORONA™” has been confirmed through testing to have high biodegradability. It is derived from natural materials, biodegradable in both soil and seawater, and environmentally friendly. This is a safe and human-friendly material that can be used for various purposes with peace of mind. It has already been successfully used in food packaging and flushable wet tissues, and we are promoting the development of other items.

Biodegradable Thermally-Adhesive Composite Fiber “miracle®fiberKK-PL”

The biodegradable, thermally-adhesive composite fiber “miracle®fiberKK-PL” is composed of 75% plant-derived biodegradable ingredients. Simply burying this material in the ground is enough for the fibers to decompose naturally.

"miracle®fiberKK-PL" demonstrates the decomposition of polybutylene succinate (PBS), the sheath component.

Development of fibers that are friendly to both people and the planet

The Daiwabo Group “Enhancement of environmentally conscious products”

The Daiwabo Group has been enhancing the lineup of environmentally conscious products and developing health and hygiene products.

Aiming for a sustainable society, the Group will address environmental issues through SDGs activities such as the development and sales of environmentally conscious products.

Expansion of Environmentally Friendly Products

Daiwabo has been expanding its lineup of environment-friendly products and developing products for health and hygiene.
In order to realize a sustainable society, the Daiwabo Group seeks to tackle environmental issues through SDG-oriented activities within its business activities, such as by developing and selling environmentally conscious products.

“Recovis™” is a rayon fiber successfully produced by DAIWABO RAYON CO., LTD., working in cooperation with several companies and research institutions, by reusing used cotton clothing, shredded waste cotton, and other kinds of cotton waste as a raw material. The Group has been using Circulose® pulp - 100% recycled material produced by Swedish recycling company Renewcell - as part of its raw material.

Environmental and energy conservation measures

As a distributor, DIS promotes green IT which can contribute to environmental conservation through the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, by promoting sales and proposing the application of various ecological products such as power-saving equipment, software, and supply products. We also support green procurement and purchasing for corporations, by providing a service that uses the “iDATEN” corporate e-commerce system we operate, which is one of the largest in the IT industry, to allow customers to confirm that IT products they have searched for are environmentally friendly.

O-M Ltd. makes customer “wants” tangible, and develops, manufactures, and sells products that are friendly to both people and the planet.
In the RT -915 and Neoα-EX series, O-M Ltd. has reduced the total power supply capacity required by equipping these products with energy-saving functions as standard, eliminating hydraulic units, and reducing the size of servo motors. Through such products, they are working to contribute to the environment and society.
